These
groups are designed around the needs of ADD/ADHD students. Participants
are guided through a process of learning and understanding in an
environment that is nurturing and non-judgmental. Groups are designed to
raise confidence, build self-esteem and develop self awareness.
Getting
to Know me Groups are teacher facilitated rather than teacher directed.
The goal of this program is to guide students to make proper choices in
their life and thoughtful responsible decisions. Real life application
scenarios and events are provided so students may discuss role play or
dramatize situations that apply to them which may help them to develop
appropriate decision making abilities. Educational Alternatives
maintains direct weekly contact with teachers in order to demonstrate to
the classroom teacher that the student is indeed progressing, making
effort, and developing skills.
